EMBIoT Toolkit — Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 17, 2026

Publisher:EMBEDOX Labs Ltd. (“Embedox”), www.embedox.com

EMBIoT Toolkit is a Bluetooth companion app for Embedox firmware running on supported embedded boards. It is built to work entirely on your device.

What we collect

Nothing. EMBIoT Toolkit has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind. The app does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy solely to discover and communicate with boards running Embedox firmware near your phone. On Android 12 and newer the Bluetooth permission is declared with the neverForLocation flag: the app cannot and does not derive your location from Bluetooth scanning, and no location permission is requested. On Android 11 and older, Android itself requires the location permission for Bluetooth scanning; the app requests it there for that sole purpose and never reads your location.

Data stored on your device

  • Device preferences (remembered boards and their pairing details) are stored locally on your phone. Android’s cloud backup is disabled for this app, so they never leave the device.

  • Images or samples you download from a board are held in the app’s private storage for display, and exported only when you choose Save, to the location you pick.

  • The optional packet log file is written only when you enable it — to the app’s storage by default, or to a file you choose — and stays on your device.

Uninstalling the app removes its stored preferences and private files.

Network

The app makes no network connections of its own. The only internet use is opening a linked website (such as embedox.com or qt.io) in your browser when you tap a link.

Children

EMBIoT Toolkit is a developer tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, material changes are not expected.
